It can happen. QuickBooks needs maintenance. Normally, it is scheduled in the evenings when we are sleeping. This week I noticed some subscribers were having a problem getting paid with Paypal-American Express payments. So QuickBooks became a bit slow while they worked on the system. A little “clogged up”. Today, I logged in and worked in it. Again, slow. Then I got this message: “QuickBooks is offline and we are working on it”. Great! Well just like your computer can have issues, so can the system. I saw some rant’s “will QuickBooks tell my employees no payroll?” “Will QuickBooks pay my fee if my sales tax is late”, etc. etc. So what should you do? Here is what I do:
- Go for a walk.
- Have another cup of coffee
- Have lunch or take a break, do another office job that doesn’t require QuickBooks.
- Meditate
Honestly, the system was not down for long, but it is very frustrating. Especially when it was slow. I actually experienced some red exclamation marks on the client’s file that I was working on that stated, “we are encountering an issue with the system and there is an error on our part”. I could not see this client’s customer list details.
