H app Y New Year everyone.  Today’s post is all about my favorite Apps.  Now, there are many to choose from.  Just click on apps.com and see.  This is the main source for all apps QuickBooks Online (QBO).  These have been vetted by Intuit and are safe to use in the program.  A very important point to remember.

So, why use an App anyway?

They save time and make you work more efficiently.  You have heard me sing the praises of Hubdoc in a few of these posts.  Automate your accounts payable.  Get your bank and credit card statements in one place.  They even email you when the statements arrive!  See this post and this post for more detail.  There is also Ledgersync app, which does pull in statements from credit unions that Hubdoc does not.  It does a lot more than that and I will be doing a full video on that app soon.

H app Y for CRM….

The app I use for customer relationship management is 17 Hats.  There are a lot of choices when it comes to this type of service.  I like 17 Hats because it is so affordable.   It works with my accounting business and I also use it with our real estate business.  It has the ability to send out contracts (leases) that can be signed electronically. I plan on spotlighting one app monthly.  So more to come on 17 Hats.

H app Y for tracking your employees or subcontractor’s time

Time tracking and scheduling that’s full-featured & easy to use is T-sheets app.  You can track time on any device to streamline payroll, and send accurate invoices.  This is the power house app of time tracking in QBO.  You can see who is on the clock, schedule shifts and so much more.  It is the #1 app on apps.com.

H app Y for a Backup your QuickBooks Online file…

Another app called Chronobooks.com is an app that will backup your QuickBooks Online file.  So, you may ask, why do I need to do this?  Well, it is a good thing to do at year-end.  You, for example, make a backup today for 2017 records.  For safe-keeping, if you have an audit.  There are other methods for that as well such as an export to an excel spreadsheet or export the file to QuickBooks Desktop.

But if you have a backup and you mess up something in your QBO file, you could restore it back to where it was before the problem occurred. That could save you hours in clean up time.   This is a new app that started last April.  I signed up for but have not tested it yet.   I’ll will share the results of my testing in a subsequent blog post.

Boomerang for Gmail….

Another app called Boomerang, lets you schedule your emails.  Set them and forget them.  You can also make them recurring. I have a customer that I need to ask the hours for payroll. So every month, I send her a recurring email asking the hours, if the employees get any bonus or commissions.  I don’t have to “remember” to send it.  It just goes on the date I schedule.

What apps do you use or love?  Please share with me on Facebook.   If you have any questions or would like to see a future video on another topic, please reach out to me on Facebook.
